This coming November, more than the presidential selection will be in the minds of voters in three states. For many, the legalization of marijuana will be another hot-button issue on the ballot. Colorado’s Amendment 64, Washington’s Measure 502, and Oregon’s Measure 80 will ask voters to decide whether marijuana possession should be legalized in their states. It should be noted that seven legislations are under the belief that marijuana has valid medical contributions; accordingly, in the coming years, further ballot measures could be added. One of the alleged incentives for adding these measures to the ballot is increased tax-related revenue for each state.
