We are all aware of people who abuse drugs or alcohol. Some of us are well acquainted with this type of behavior; others may know such people only through TV shows or articles in magazines. Few of us are aware of the impact that biology has on what appears to be bad choices. While an individual may be unable to cope with alcohol or drugs due to his or her genetic make-up, each of us is responsible for managing our addictive disorders.
