The Greenville (SC) chapter of FAVOR (Faces and Voices of Recovery) will celebrate the opening of a center to help addicts and the families of those with substance abuse issues. The center will act as a resource for information and referrals; it will not be a support group or treatment facility. It began when someone reached out for help, and a current FAVOR member realized that she had no idea what kind of help, if any, was available among the non-profit organizations in the area. It was obvious that there was a need for information and coordination among the health and human services programs in order to better serve the needs of individuals seeking assistance.
