Healing often begins inside a safe therapeutic relationship.
I became a social worker and counselor because I love people. Working with them, being with them, supporting them. Learning, growing and connecting in relationships with others brings me joy. My specialization in addiction and recovery is not just a profession, it is a reflection of my own family's experience.
Growing up inside an addicted family system, I intimately understand the chaos of addiction, the long work of recovery, and the kind of hope that can rise out of dark circumstances. I know firsthand that addiction is a family disease and that it impacts everyone and everything it touches.
Beyond addiction and recovery, I provide support for people working through grief, anxiety, depression and codependency. With each individual and family, I look at the web of relationships and dynamics around them and use a systems approach to address the complexity of what they are actually facing.
In my therapeutic work, I integrate a range of approaches: cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, solution-focused therapy, and building emotional awareness and insight. I am particularly invested in helping people work through the shame and isolation that come with substance abuse. My framework is strengths-based, attachment-based and trauma-informed, and my aim is to help people feel their own agency in healing.
I approach each session with an open heart. Together we build a safe, nonjudgmental space where emotions can be explored and challenges can be met with courage and grace. I have been inspired again and again by the resilience of the human spirit and the power of healing inside real relationships. It is an honor to walk alongside people through growth and change.
On a more personal note, I deeply value genuine connection and lightheartedness. Despite the gravity of addiction and recovery, I have learned that healing is often helped along by warmth and humor. Outside of my practice, I spend time outdoors, traveling, taking long walks with my dog, and practicing mindfulness and gratitude in ordinary moments. I firmly believe no one should navigate these challenges alone. If you or someone you love is facing something hard, please reach out. Schedule a phone consultation and we'll collaborate on a path that fits your actual life.
