A calling to support emotional and mental health.
I have always had a passion for helping others navigate life's challenges. Over the years, I have worn many hats in my practice, each role reflecting that dedication.
I have served as a staff counselor at Texas Children's Hospital Learning Support Center, Program Director for the eating disorders and recovery program at The Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery at Texas Tech University, and Social and Emotional Program Specialist at Small Steps Nurturing Center.
I have also been Social and Emotional Program Co-Director at Iconoclast Artists, a wonderful educational nonprofit supporting local school districts in HISD and SBISD.
After taking time off to focus on my own family's health and well-being, I have returned to clinical work with renewed energy. I now practice at Kagey Family Counseling, in the Memorial, Spring Branch and Energy Corridor area, as a substance use and addiction counselor.
In my practice, I work with individuals, couples and families. My background in early development, the treatment of childhood disorders and recovery gives me a unique perspective when helping people and families affected by mental health issues, process addictions and substance use disorders.
I find real joy and fulfillment in supporting emotional and mental health, aiding recovery from addictions, and supporting the growth of individuals and family systems. It is not just a job. It is a calling that I approach with empathy, compassion and a deep commitment to making a positive difference in people's lives.
