About Chasity Sellers, LCSW
I became a social worker and counselor because I love people—working with them, being with them, and supporting them. Learning, growing, and connecting in relationships with others brings me joy. My specialization in addiction and recovery is not just a profession but a reflection of my own familial experiences.
Growing up within an addicted family system, I intimately understand the chaos of addiction, the journey of recovery, and the enduring hope that can arise from even the darkest of circumstances. I know firsthand that addiction is a family disease and that it impacts everyone and everything that it touches.
Beyond addiction and recovery, I provide support for those grappling with grief, anxiety, depression, and codependency. With each individual and family, I delve into the intricate web of relationships and dynamics, utilizing a systems approach to address the complexities of their experiences.
In my therapeutic practice, I integrate a variety of approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, solution-focused therapy, and building emotional awareness and insight. I’m dedicated to helping individuals work through the shame and isolation often associated with substance abuse or addiction. Rooted in a strengths-based, attachment-based, and trauma-informed framework, my aim is to empower individuals on their healing journey.
Approaching each session with an open heart and empathetic spirit, I guide individuals and families with unwavering compassion and understanding. Together, we create a safe, nonjudgmental space where emotions can be explored, and challenges confronted with courage and grace.
Through my own experiences, I’ve been inspired by the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of healing. It’s both an honor and a privilege to walk alongside individuals as they navigate their path toward growth and transformation.
On a more personal note, I deeply value the importance of genuine connection and lightheartedness. Despite the gravity of addiction and recovery, I’ve found that healing can often be fostered through moments of warmth and humor. Outside of my practice, I cherish time spent outdoors, traveling, enjoying long walks with my dog, and embracing mindfulness and gratitude in everyday moments.
Although relationships can be challenging, nurturing relationships provide healing. For many of us, healing relationships often begin within a safe therapeutic relationship. I firmly believe no one should navigate these challenges alone. If you or someone you know is facing challenges, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Schedule a phone consultation, and together, we’ll collaboratively explore the path toward healing and growth that best suits your needs.
