Michele J. RussellI have always had a passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges. Over the years, Michele has worn many hats in her practice, each role reflecting her dedication and expertise.

She has served as a staff counselor at Texas Children’s Hospital Learning Support Center, Program Director for the eating disorders and recovery program at The Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery at Texas Tech University, and Social and Emotional Program Specialist at Small Steps Nurturing Center.

Additionally, Michele has been the Social and Emotional Program Co-Director at Iconoclast Artists, a wonderful educational nonprofit supporting local school districts in HISD and SBISD.

After taking time off to focus on her own family’s health and well-being, Michele has returned to clinical work with renewed energy. She now practices at Kagey Family Counseling located in the Memorial, Spring Branch, Energy Corridor area. There, she serves as a substance use and addiction counselor.

In her practice, Michele works with individuals, couples, and families. Her background in early development, the treatment of childhood disorders and recovery gives her a unique perspective when helping individuals and families affected by mental health issues, process addictions, and substance use disorders.

Michele finds great joy and fulfillment in supporting emotional and mental health, aiding recovery from addictions, and fostering the growth and development of individuals and family systems. Her work is not just a job; it’s a calling that she approaches with empathy, compassion, and a deep commitment to making a positive difference in people’s lives.

Michele Russell earned her Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1995 and became a licensed professional counselor in 1998.
