At Kagey Family Counseling, we are concerned about all of you out there who may be looking for 12 Step meetings right now.  Due to CDC guidelines, most meetings are no longer being conducted in person.  Some meetings have transitioned to being held via Zoom or by phone, and we want to give you the information we have found so far.  If you know of any additional meeting information, we invite you to share it.

Because our offices are primarily located in the Houston area, we have provided information for the Houston area, but we have also provided links for meetings wherever you live via the respective meetings’ world service offices.

Updates as of October, 2020

In April, we did the best we could to find information for those of you looking for an AA, Al-Anon or ACA meeting on Zoom. It’s now the end of October and most meetings have been updated since that time.

We are still in transition throughout the country. In Houston, many AA meetings have resumed meeting in person, but some are still meeting via Zoom. Al-Anon meetings in Houston have predominantly stayed on Zoom to this point, but some have also started meeting in person.

Houston Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) Meetings

The Houston AA page has made incredible updates to their “Find A Meeting” page. When you click on the link below, you can see which meetings are still active and which ones are on hold. You can also call them on the phone if you have additional questions.  713-686-6300.

When you click on the active meetings, you’ll be taken to a page with that meeting’s information. If it’s meeting online, the zoom link is included right there.

You can also Search by location, day, time, and type of AA meeting you’re looking for with their Search feature at the top of the page.Thank You Houston AA for making it so easy for people to find active meetings right now!

The Lambda Center in Houston also has a current list of its in-person and online meetings that is being updated frequently. The Lambda Center is a LBGTQ 12 Step Recovery Clubhouse. If you scroll down on their homepage, you will find all of their meeting information:

Houston Al-Anon Meetings

The Texas Al-Anon website has also done a great job at staying updated during COVID. They have meeting lists for each part of Texas listed by region here: Meeting Information

For Houston meetings, specifically, this is a spreadsheet that is being updated frequently for online and in-person Al-Anon meetings. This is the latest version:
District 5: COVID-19 Temporary eMeetings List

To find the most updated version of this spreadsheet in the future, you’ll go to the main link listed above (Meeting Information) and scroll down the page to:

Southeast Texas (Area 53 Texas East)

  • Houston ONLINE MEETINGS – Google Sheet (D5)

Thank you to everyone who’s working to keep this up-to-date for Al-Anon. It’s a comprehensive list, and you should be able to find a meeting for day or evening you need one.

Houston ACA Meetings

The ACA World Service Organization has also done a great job of updating their meeting lists as much as possible. To find a meeting near you:
Go to:  https://adultchildren.org/meeting-search.

Fill out your state and/or Zip code information and select the distance you’d like to search around that area. When you complete this and push the maroon “Search” button, you’ll get a list of relevant meetings. To the right of every meeting is a date saying when the information was updated.

If you’re interested in finding out more about a meeting, there is a tab you can click for under each meeting called “Meeting Contact”. Clicking on “Meeting Contact” takes you to a page explaining the importance of confidentiality and gives an option to click another box called “I agree to maintain confidentiality.” Once you click that, the next page will give you the contact person and their phone and/or email information so you can get meeting details. It does take several steps to get there, but it’s well worth the effort!

Unfortunately, the Southeast Texas ACA Intergroup website has not seemed to update their meeting list since 2019. But you should be able to find enough Houston meetings through the ACA World Service Organization listed above.

We realize this is not a comprehensive list of all the 12 Step fellowships or resources in Houston or wherever you are living.  We hope this is enough information to get you started and to get you connected or keep you connected to meetings at this time.
